Public consultation is now open for a review of electoral boundaries in the WA state parliament. The WA Distribution Commission is seeking public suggestions for its review of state electoral boundaries. The boundaries are reviewed halfway through each electoral cycle, taking into account enrolment changes. The last state election was held in 2017, with the next election scheduled for 2021. Distribution Commission chair Eric Heenan said enrolment levels calculated for the 2019 review showed 11 of the state's Legislative Assembly districts were outside the permitted enrolment levels and others were close to the limit. "Obviously, this means that an absolute minimum of 11 districts will have their boundaries changed', he said. "But when you take into account the domino effect that will result from these changes, the impact is likely to spread over quite a few other districts."
