While fans of cult classic The Big Lebowski were disappointed not to see a sequel to the 1998 film, they were treated to a reunion of sorts recently.

Which, sorry to say, is going to have to do for the time being – but we can make do with this, thats for sure.

Jeff Bridges, who played titular character, Jeff Lewbowski, AKA The Dude, reunited with chums John Goodman (who played Walter Sobchak) and Steve Buscemi (Donny Kerabatsos) for a legend shot last week to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the film.

Posting to Twitter, Jeff shared a sweet shot of the three actors out to a meal, along with NBCs Harry Smith who was interviewing them for the auspicious anniversary.

Dont they all look so chuffed to be in the same room once more? Look at John!

While two stellar members of the cast, Philip Seymour Hoffman and David Huddleston, have sadly passed away, and Julianne Moore also wasnt present for the reunion, fans loved the snapshot…in lieu of an actual sequel on screen, that is.

Jeff wrote: Missing some of our cast here, but it was a blast getting back together with John and Steve for the 20th Anniversary of #TheBigLebowski.

One fan replied: 20 years later and still one of the best movies of all time.

Another added: The Dude abides. I dont know about you, but I take comfort in that. Its good knowing hes out there, the Dude, takin er easy for all us sinners.

A third shared his life philosophy, based on that of the Dude, as he said: The dude is my role model in life. I know he has a few flaws, but he genuinely seems at peace with life & whats better than a robe and a White Russian?

The original film was directed by the Coen Brothers and punters have been calling for a sequel for years.

On the subject, Digital Spy spoke with Jeff about the prospect of donning the robe once more.

I think whatever [directors the Coen] brothers think. If they want to do a sequel, Im sure itd be a cool thing, he said.

And like so many masters of their craft, they make it look like I was just rolling off lines. Hes just a silly stoner.

We will get a spin-off, though, with John Turtorro working on Going Places, which is focused on his antagonistic bowler character, The Jesus.
