Rihanna’s performance of Wild Thoughts at the Grammys is everything
Can we just stop and talk about Rihanna for a moment?
During a night of empowering female performances, from Kesha’s landmark return to the Grammys, to Pink’s powerful performance wearing jeans and a t-shirt, Rihanna was up there with the best with her sassy rendition of Wild Thoughts.
It was enough to give anyone wild thoughts quite frankly, as the singer pulled out all the stops for her fierce performance, donning a glittery fringed dress, a big old flower in her hair, and pulling off a few salsa moves.
And of course, her intense face spawned an enjoyable meme or two.
She was accompanied by Bryson Tiller and DJ Khaled, who kicked off the performance by telling the audience: ‘They said I’d never perform at the Grammys.’
As well as her epic performance, Rihanna was also nominated for her collaboration with Kendrick Lamar on the song Royalty from his album Damn in the best rap/sung performance category. And they won!
While accepting the award, Kendrick said the award really belonged to her, to which she responded: ‘Well thank you Kendrick for giving me this incredible opportunity to be on such a good record. I’m honored to be able to do this with you.’
Although Rihanna refused to walk the red carpet, she did show off a pre-show look which saw her stunning in a white mini dress.
