Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom earns $39 million in South Korea
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the science fiction film starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, has earned $39 million (£29.64 million) in South Korea to date.
The movie was released in South Korea on 6 June and set a new all-time opening-day record by selling 1.18 million tickets in its first day.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has grossed the amount with 4.9 million tickets sold as of 20 June, or in 15 days since opening, according to the Korean Film Council (KOFIC).
Pratt and Howard recently celebrated when the film sold four million tickets in South Korea.
Avengers: Infinity War sold 9.24 million tickets and earned $74 million in Korea in its first 15 days.
But its popularity has been slowed down by the Korean film The Accidental Detective 2: In Action, which has topped the daily and weekend box office.
The detective film, starring Kwon Sang-woo, Sung Dong-il and Lee Kwang-soo (of Running Man TV program), opened on 13 June.

It topped the Korean weekend box office from 15 to 17 June by selling 686,805 tickets and earning $5.5 million.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which topped the weekend box office from 8 to 10 June, placed second with 667,617 tickets sold and revenue of $5.46 million.
The 20 June box office receipts showed The Accidental Detective 2: In Action at No. 1 with 105,033 in total admissions and revenue of $757,058 for a day market share of 39.34%.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, on the other hand, sold 53,889 tickets and earned $405,429 for a market share of 21.07%.

Oceans 8, which opened in Korea on 13 June, placed third with 51,477 tickets sold and revenue of $377,619.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will open in the US on 22 June.
