Animoca Brands wins Google Play award for health app

Animoca Brands Corporation Ltds (ASX:AB1) fitness technology subsidiary OliveX has had one of its apps named a winner in the Google Play Best of 2019 awards.

OliveXs artificial intelligence-based Baduanjin app 智能八段錦 was named one of the Best Personal Growth Apps of 2019.

The app was developed by OliveX in partnership with the local non-government organisation North Point Kai Fong Welfare Advancement Association, and published by Animoca Brands.

The app was named a winner at Google Play Best of 2019, the event in which Google selects the finest among the more than 2.8 million Android™ mobile apps available on Google Play™.

It encourages a healthier lifestyle for users, especially the elderly, by guiding them to learn and practice Baduanjin, a common form of medical Qigong exercise (similar to Tai Chi).

The app uses artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to track the execution of users movements and posture via their mobile device cameras, and provides a real-time feedback and analysis of their performance.
