Nicki Minaj recently shocked fans when she announced she was retiring in a tweet.

However, the star has since explained herself when her followers begged for answers.

Replying to one of her Barbies, the 36-year-old apologised for her insensitive words, and called her recent revelations abrupt.

The Bang Bang hitmaker retweeted one of her fans messages, which read: can u please just address this retirement thing.

Youve never left us so hurt your entire career. Were just hurting Nicki. Its US its the barbz plz…

In her response, the rapper confessed: Im still right here. Still madly in love with you guys and you know that.

Nicki went on to reveal that shell address her choice to retire in her Apple Beats 1 show, Queen Radio.

In hindsight, this shouldve been a Queen Radio discussion and it will be, the star explained: I promise u guys will be happy.

She added: No guests, just us talking about everything. The tweet was abrupt & insensitive, I apologize babe.

Fans were quick to comment and asked what they were supposed to do without the queen of rap.

Yes it was my heart broke Nicki. I love you so much, your announcement felt like a death. Just image a world with no Nicki Minaj, one wrote while another added: I love you forever.

Earlier this week, the Super Bass singer surprised her fandom with the news.

In an unexpected tweet, which has now been deleted, she told her 20.6million followers: Ive decided to retire & have a family. I know you guys are happy now.

To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, X in the box – cuz aint nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE.
