Its been a huge few months for Sally Metcalfe and her family in Coronation Street, and things arent about to get any better for them over Christmas with Gina Seddon hanging around.

With Sally having been sent down after being found guilty of fraud thanks to conman Duncan, Gina has set up camp in her home alongside husband Tim, whos stopped believing in his wifes innocence.

No thanks to Gina, whos been coming between the two wherever possible, and was somewhat responsible for the guilty verdict after being a character witness and giving the jury reason to believe Sally may have had an affair with Duncan.

Now it seems she has her feet firmly under the table, but actress Connie Hyde has hinted at an explosive Christmas ahead for Sallys tricky sister.

Speaking to metro.co.uk about Gina getting a big Christmas storyline, Connie revealed: Its exciting, because shes only been in it a couple of years. So its an honour, really. I always watched it on Christmas Day, so to be on it is an honour and Im looking forward to it.

But she added shes not looking forward to the backlash as shell be hiding from fans once the episode airs.

Asked if shell be watching, she said: Yeah. Ill probably be bombarding myself in the house, avoiding getting egged!

Exciting things ahead for Gina and Tim then. Will she manage to get even closer to him? Will she make sure her sister is well and truly out of the picture?

On whether or not Gina and Tim could make a good couple if it were another universe, Connie teased: Hes very uncomplicated so as long as his teas on the table… No I think shes a bit chaotic for him. I did like the Dev dynamic, I think theyre both unusual characters and Tim would very soon get sick of her.

Is Sally about to lose her man? Tune in over Christmas to find out!
