A gay Marvel executive, Victoria Alonso, has spoken out about how Marvel needs to do better on LGBT representation.

Were not saying they should straight up make Loki gay, but…

Victoria spoke out about the lack of diversity in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, admitting that she longs for more Latin and gay superheroes.

I think we havent represented the Latin community, in general. I think thats something we have to do better. Im Latin, I can tell you that Im longing for that, she explained.

The gay community has not been represented whatsoever. Im gay, so I can tell you that I would long for that.

Now, we only make two or three movies a year, so its difficult to have every single one — but it is definitely one of the things that we have in our minds all the time.

She added: I think that every team film [like The Avengers and Guardians Of The Galaxy] that we do has to have a very diverse cast, and thats something that we are definitely working on trying to achieve.

You dont get to have this kind of success if the entire world doesnt see your product.

Preach, girl.

While Marvel characters like Deadpool and Poison Ivy are known to be LGBT in the comics, its not been shown in the MCU just yet – and fans arent too happy about it.

me: knows marvel hates the gays and steve and bucky are probably never gonna see each other again let alone have their relationship become canon
my last 2 brain cells: omg what if steve and bucky kiss when they reunite??

Taking to social media, theyve been pleading with Marvel for some LGBT representation.

@DCComics @Marvel WE NEED A GAY SUPER HERO please, one fan tweeted.

Another added: mad at how marvel made every character gay but doesnt want to accept it.

So is it going to happen in the future?

In 2015, Marvel president Kevin Feige gave a pretty strong indication that an LGBT character would appear in the MCU – sometime in the next decade.

That soon?!

I would think so, for sure, he said when questioned by Collider although did add that in the grand scheme of things we might still have a few years to wait.

In the drawing board going up to 2019 it remains to be seen, Feige explained.
