Deadpool 2 to be re-released as a PG-13 Christmas classic

Have you ever wondered what Deadpool would be like if he had to curb his enthusiasm (and swear-y mouth) for a younger audience?
Well, Marvels favourite R-rated, foul-mouthed antihero is getting the PG-13 treatment.
Deadpool 2 will be edited and re-released as a PG-13 film called Once Upon A Deadpool, just in time for Christmas.
The holiday-themed version will be coming to cinemas in December with a limited release from the 12th through to Christmas Eve, Deadline reports.
The official Twitter account of the film retweeted the news, so its definitely happening.
Footage from the original Deadpool 2 movie will be edited in order to meet violence and language requirements for a younger audience.
The new version will feature a Christmas story-framing devise where Deadpool will appear with actor Fred Savage, and other new scenes that were filmed in one day.

Savage will appear in eight scenes, one of which will feature Deadpool reading a bedtime story to him. Sound familiar? Well, thats because youve probably seen an almost identical scene from 1987s The Princes Bride, which then-child star Savage starred in.
But the re-release isnt just so the younguns can be corrupted by Deadpool.
Ryan Reynolds, who plays the character, told Deadline that $1 (£0.77) from every ticket sold will go to the F**k Cancer charity – temporarily renamed Fudge Cancer for the PG-13 rating.
Fox has been asking for a PG-13 basically since the start in 2006, Reynolds reveals. Ive said no since 2006. Now, this one time, I said “Yes” on two conditions. First, a portion of the proceeds had to go to charity. Second, I wanted to kidnap Fred Savage. The second condition took some explaining…
Savage is on board with it. Kind of.
He said: While my participation in this film is anything but voluntary, I am happy to learn that Fudge Cancer will be the beneficiary of this shameless cash grab.

Itll be interesting to see how Deadpool is going to curb all the violence, thoroughly persistent F-bombs, sex jokes and gore and still make it entertaining enough.
