Emmerdale actor Mark Jordon has been charged with GBH following an incident in Oldham where he allegedly bit a 67-year-old man on the face and hands.
Jordon, who plays Daz Spencer in the soap and is currently dating co-star Laura Norton, was arrested earlier this year but now that he has been charged, he could face suspension or even dismissal from Emmerdale as well as a potential prison sentence.
Metro.co.uk has approached Greater Manchester Police for comment, who told us: A man has been charged in connection with an assault in Oldham.
Mark Jordon has been charged with GBH and section 39 common assault. He will appear at Tameside Magistrates Court on 8th November 2018.
Shortly before 9.30pm on Sunday 1 July 2018, police were called to reports of an assault in Oldham. A 67-year-old man was taken to hospital with facial injuries.
A source added to The Sun: Its very serious. Producers are concerned and weighing up what to do. Its possible Mark will be suspended — and if found guilty his days would be numbered.
Metro.co.uk have approached spokespersons for ITV, who are not commenting on the matter.
It is alleged that the row in the pub escalated after the pensioner, Andy Potts, made jokes about Marks 17-year-old daughter kissing someone.
