Coronation Street spoilers: Josh Tuckers exit airs after final showdown with David Platt
Coronation Street has aired the final scenes of villain Josh Tucker after he finally admitted to David Platt that he raped him – before begging him not to go to the police and shop him. Josh has always denied that what he did to David was rape and was smug when he was released after being raped.
When Josh returned to the street as a lodger of Billy Mayhew after an attack left him partially blind, David could take no more of seeing him and forced him into a car before driving him off.
When they were alone, David had it out with him and eventually Josh broke down and accepted what he had done before begging David not to ruin his life as he couldnt cope in prison.

David looked at him with disgust and realised how pathetic he was and taking ownership of his own life, decided that Josh had taken up enough of his time. As David drove off and left Josh in a mess, contemplating his whole life, he returns to a loving family.

But will this bring the character closure? Jack P Shepherd pondered: Ive been in the show for 18 years now and played every single storyline you could possibly play. Ultimately in soaps, I think if it does change the character then you must see what you want from the character. Do you want David Platt to change and if so why? If he does change, does he eventually have to leave?
After a while, the character must come to terms with what has happened to them and move on, then you can live out other stories. If they dont, then what do they do? Will they be depressed or do they leave? It comes down to that, really.
David has been through a lot, hes a resilient character. Hes had numerous people trying to kill him before and his wife died, so there are things that hes got over and come out the other side.
