Aretha Franklins funeral set to be star-studded affair with performances from Stevie Wonder and Jennifer Hudson

Aretha Franklins funeral is set to be filled with her fellow musical greats as shes given a fitting send off.

The legendary singer will be laid to rest on 31 August in a ceremony that will see performances from her musician friends.

Stevie Wonder and Jennifer Hudson head up the long list of names, along with Faith Hill, Fantasia, Shirley Caesar, Chaka Khan and her son Edward Franklin set to perform.

The service will reportedly reflect her strong gospel roots and will be held at the Greater Grace Temple, which boasts 600 members and a 90-year history. Only her friends and family will attend.

But prior to that Arethas loyal fans will have the opporutnity to view the casket in a two-day viewing which will be held at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.

On both days, fans will be able to pay their respects from 9.00 am. to 9.00 pm.

Following the private service, Aretha will be laid to rest at the Woodlawn Cemetery.

Aretha Franklin will be entombed at Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan, along with her father, Rev. C.L. Franklin; brother Cecil Franklin; sisters Carolyn Franklin and Erma Franklin; and nephew, Thomas Garrett, her reps told Metro.co.uk.

Aretha Franklin died aged 76 surrounded by her family after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
