Emma Blackerys not here for your Agenda but were totally here for hers
YouTube star Emma Blackery is spilling some serious tea with her current music releases – and we are totally here for it.
After her not-so-thinly veiled diss track Dirt, the 26-year-old has released new single Agenda – the second release from her upcoming album.
Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk, Emma described Agenda as a confidence song, written after overcoming a low point in her life last year.
She told us: Its about loving yourself and being yourself and being confident … and knowing that can sometimes piss people off.
Emmas blunt and candid videos on YouTube have amassed 1.5 million subscribers, and helped her launch a music career that landed her tour with Busted in 2016 and her own UK headline shows later this year.
While she admitted to us that her songs have been drawn from real experiences and people, she has no intention to ever reveal who theyre about.

Heres the thing, calling people out by name is too low, she added. If I was to do a diss track and put their name in it then people cant apply that song to themselves.
With the release of Dirt last month and now Agenda, Emmas fans have been quick to try and decipher who the songs could be about – curious to know if theyre fellow online stars, or someone away from the camera.
It doesnt really bother me if people guess who its about, she admitted. Because ultimately I dont have to say who its about.
She told us: I feel like naming is also kind of beneath me a little bit. I mean people might think its shady but at the same time, this way people can apply it to their own lives.
And thanks to her musical outlet, Emma has been able to overcome what caused her to write the songs in the first place, adding: People who the songs are about, like Dirt and stuff, it doesnt matter to me anymore.
I wrote the song back in August when I was extremely upset by someone and it got to the point where I was checking their profiles every single day to see if they were talking about me, she added.
I was obsessed with the idea that they had a complete vendetta against me, and it can make you paranoid. Having someone you trust turn on you.
Now I dont think about them at all. Only when Im doing this! she laughed. So theres no point in naming. I feel like that would cheapen the song I think.
Ive had a couple of people be like “Is [Dirt] about Cherry?” she added. Cherry Wallis, a beauty and Harry Potter vlogger, appeared frequently with Emma when they both started their channels in 2012 and 2013. However, the pair havent appeared as often together in recent years.

This, combined with an unfortunate wardrobe choice from Emma, left some eagle-eyed sleuths convinced they knew who Dirt was about.
In the promo photo I was wearing a t-shirt that said cherry babe, and so people thought it was about Cherry because of that. I was like “No!,” she exclaimed.
I can confirm, its not about Cherry, she added.
Guess well have to see if she spills the tea another day.
Agenda is available to listen to online today.
