Fans were left disappointed at the news Tears For Fears have been forced to postpone their upcoming UK dates.

The rockers have been advised on doctors orders to postpone the gigs until 2019, although its not clear what the unforeseen health concerns are.

They were due to start their tour on 27 April in Leeds and finish on May 12 in Brighton, but the dates will now happen in February next year.

The announcement on behalf of Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith read: Tears for Fears have been forced to postpone their forthcoming sold out UK & Ireland arena tour due to unforeseen health concerns and on doctors orders.

The tour, due to start April 27th in Leeds, and finish May 12th in Brighton has been rescheduled for early 2019.

A statement from the band said: Tears for Fears apologise to their fans and are extremely sorry for any inconvenience caused.

They look forward to working on finishing material for their first new album in fourteen years, with the hope of releasing it this autumn.

Fans were devastated at the news, although the band did ease their pain by revealing theyre working on their first new album in four years.

Tickets for the current dates will be valid for next year, although those holding tickets for Glasgow and Birmingham will have new tickets issued due to venue changes.

Fans are urged to apply for refunds at the point of purchase by Sunday 13 May.
