Parklife bosses have asked Liam Gallagher fans to leave their potato peelers at home after announcing the star would be headlining at this year’s festival.
The former Oasis singer started the joke last year after asking a fan to peel a potato on stage at a London gig in reference to his estranged brother Noel, who previously invited a scissors player to perform on stage with him during a performance on Jools Holland.
But Parklife founder Sacha Lord-Marchionne has said that, despite everyone’s enthusiasm to pack the kitchen utensil in their backpacks, he’d rather you left the peelers at home.
According to the Manchester Evening News, he stated: ‘We’ve been so blown away by this week’s launch and the demand for tickets,’ he said. ‘But even more blown away at how many people have asked to bring in potato peelers for Liam’s main stage performance!
‘In case you’re wondering – the answer is most definitely no!’
Liam took to Twitter after the announcement was made, and promised that his performance is set to be ‘biblical’.
Parklife mcr gonna be BIBLICAL as you were LG x
