EastEnders Hayley Slater arrives back on the Square tonight with her baby in her arms – but its not the happy homecoming shed hope for.
Hayley is still convinced shed be a terrible mum and not the best person to look after the littleun, having given birth in a crack den and later refusing to breast feed in hospital to avoid getting close.
So she makes a heartbreaking decision to give her up.
Arriving back in Walford shes not sure what she should do for the best, and makes a drastic decision to abandon her daughter.
She returns to the Slaters to secretly collect baby items, then goes to the one place she feels safe and knows her baby will be looked after – the Ahmeds house.

After the kindness they showed her while she was pregnant, Hayley choses their doorstep as the place to leave the little girl, with a note attached for the family to look after her.
A devastated Hayley then disappears.
But will her actions mean she loses her daughter forever?
