The Eurovision Song Contest is seven months away, but preparation is in full swing.
Belgium has confirmed that Hooverphonic will represent them in Eurovision 2020, with the band working on their entry song.
Band members Alex Callier, Raymond Geerts and Luka Cruysberghs are in demo process of their song – which will be performed in English – and will unveil the finished product early next year.
Hooverphonic formed in 1995 and have gone through a number of line-ups, with Luka replacing Noemie Wolfs last April.
Luka actually has some experience of the Eurovision world, having auditioned to represent Belgium at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest as a teen.
The eclectic band is best known for theor songs 2Wicky and Mad About You, with the latter soundtracking the ending of Netflixs The Umbrella Academy.
Having had their music featured in a host of TV shows and films including I Know What You Did Last Summer, Cold Case and Entourage, Hooverphonic could be a formidable competitor at Eurovision 2020.

Belgium have failed to qualify for the Eurovision final for the past two years with 2018 entry Sennek and A Matter Of Time, and 2019 entry Eliot with his song Wake Up.

However, they finished in fourth place in 2015 with Loic Nottets Rhythm Inside, and repeated that placing in 2017 with Blanches City Lights.
Belgium are the first country to announce their act for Eurovision 2020, which will be held in Rotterdam following The Netherlands Duncan Laurences win in Tel Aviv.
