We already know that James Bailey (Nathan Graham) in Coronation Street is hiding the truth about his sexuality. He doesnt want to publicly come out as he fears it would be impossible to be an openly gay, black footballer because of some fans prejudice. However, things will start to get a little easier for James soon as upcoming episodes see him come out as gay to his brother Michael (Ryan Russell).
James led Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) into thinking he fancied her and when she went to kiss him at the Baileys house party. James resisted her advances and blurted out the truth.
Michael reveals to James that he overheard his conversation with Bethany last night and reminding James that he loves him, Michael asks outright if hes gay.
James opens up to Michael about his secret life with his friends in London. Michaels shocked to discover that Aggie (Lorna Laidlaw) has known the truth for years and Aggie declares that, since Michaels found out, its not fair to keep Ed (Trevor Michael Georges) in the dark.
