Brian May is convinced Freddie Mercury would have approved of Queens latest frontman Adam Lambert.
The 71-year-old took to Twitter in a furious rant where he slammed anyone who though he should tour with a Freddie impersonator.
Praising the groups current singer, the guitarist called the 37-year-old a true phenomenon, and we guess that is that.
The living legend said: And here is the Modern Marvel without whom, for sure, Queen would not be out here delivering at the top level.
ADAM LAMBERT is only now beginning to be recognised by the greater public as the true phenomenon that he is.
He continued: Gifted with a voice in a billion, for himself he is a passionate and unyielding perfectionist. Gifted to us, he is the reason that we are still alive as a functioning rock band.
And still able to take on new challenges. Plus … hes nice. Thats a big deal when youre a touring family. Freddie would approve, big time.

After promoting his upcoming gig in San Jose, which will take place on Monday night, the start continued to hit out at any Adam haters.
Also, and I will say this only once, for the benefit of just a few people who havent stopped to think clearly, he began.
Just imagine how awful it would have been for Roger [Taylor] and myself to tour with a Freddie impersonator.
May shunned: Anyone who suggests such a thing doesnt belong here. To the vast majority of you lovely people out there – BIG THANKS for being respectful to Adam.

This isnt the first time Brian has felt the need to defend his buddy.
He previously claimed that the star can do just as much as the bands late singer, if not more – and yes, those words did leave his mouth.
