If it seems like everyone you know went to see Toy Story 4 this weekend, youre probably not wrong as the latest installment in Pixars hit franchise absolutely killed it at the box office.

The movie topped the charts and pulled in a whopping $118 million (£92 million) across the US. Sure, it falls short of the predicted $140 million (£109 million), but its still not too shabby in anyones books.

Critics fell in love with the movie, but audiences seemed wary and its thought fans of Woody and Buzz may be putting off seeing the fourth movie for fear it might damage the other three Toy Story films.

Outside the States, Toy Story 4 made $120 million (£94 million) across 37 different countries, meaning the worldwide takings of the movie were $238 million (£186 million).

The success of Toy Story 4 adds to a great year for Disney so far, as its only one of three movies that have broken the opening weekend $100 million (£78 million) barrier in 2019. The other two – Avengers: Endgame and Captain Marvel – are both from the Disney stable.
