Rob Delaneys Elvis Presley role cut from Rocketman after actor permanently dyed his hair black
Rob Delaney has revealed his role was cut from Elton John biopic Rocketman, with an accidental hair dye incident making the removal even more brutal.
The 42-year-old actor and comedian stated he played Elvis Presley in the hit movie, with a make-up mishap on the shoot resulting in filmmakers accidentally permanently dying his hair black.
Speaking to BBC Radio 6 Music on Sunday, Delaney said: I did shoot a couple of scenes in the film as a guy named Elvis Presley, who you may have heard of, and they even dyed my hair black for it.
In the make-up trailer they said: “Do you want the temporary dye or the permanent?”
I was like, “temporary please,” and they put in the permanent by mistake, so it was black for six months after.
My hair is black in another movie because of playing Elvis in Rocketman, which got cut, which is very funny, but thats just the way the ball bounces sometimes.
Delaney isnt bitter towards the film for cutting his role, however, being familiar with the editing process working on Catastrophe.

I know when Sharon Horgan and I were making Catastrophe, we would frequently cut out things that we really enjoyed, just for time, so I bear no ill-will towards the makers of Rocketman, Delaney added.
Taron Egerton, who plays Elton John in the biopic, recently joined the singer on tour for a stirring rendition of Your Song in Brighton.
Rocketman is out now in cinemas.
