Search for couple after Margaret River sunset proposal
A stunning South West sunset is one of the best backdrops to a special moment one can ask for – particularly for one loved-up gentleman who this week took the plunge and asked for his partner's hand in marriage. The moment was captured by local Esther de Graaff, who is now seeking to make contact with the couple so she can share the images with them. "I had spent the day down at Hamelin Bay with some friends and decided to drive down to the point on my way home when I saw the sky turning this beautiful pink," Ms de Graaff told the Mail. "So I had the hope it was going to be a good sundown and decided to drive down on my own for a quick look. "When I drove from the point to the Rivermouth I saw dolphins in the corner of my eye so quickly parked my car and ran to the point I took the photos from. "I normally don't watch the sundown from there, the dolphins got me to watch it from there." While taking in the beautiful view, Ms de Graaff said she realised something very special was happening in front of her. "The couple were like me, watching the sundown and the dolphins for at least a good 10 minutes before the husband-to-be went into proposal mode. I was just in time to take a picture in the moment it was happening, and I just started snapping away randomly." While not a professional photographer, Ms de Graaff said she would love the images to be appreciated by the couple, who may not have realised they were being photographed. "It was just on my phone and I'm not a great photographer but the sunset was so beautiful and I'm happy to have saved this moment for this happy couple."
