EastEnders spoilers: Danielle Harold teases Lola Pearces secret and promises fierce scenes
EastEnders returnee Danielle Harold has promised that her character Lola Pearce has lost none of her edge as she makes her return to Walford alongside Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) next week – in fact, the feistiness is exactly what made show boss Kate Oates bring her back.
As Lola returns with her daughter Lexi alongside Ben, the family unit get a mixed reception on their comeback and viewers are bound to be wondering what is going on between the pair. Danielle hinted to us when we caught up with her that Lola and Ben have ulterior motives for their return and could be hiding a secret or two but she added that her alter ego has really matured and her first priority in whatever she does is Lexi.
She explained: Lola comes back out of nowhere – no phone calls – so definitely with her pops and everyone, theyre all just kind of shocked, especially that theyre (Ben, Lola and Lexi) back together because weve never had that relationship in the Square so the three of them are back and theyre there, so yeah there is the shock factor of them all being there as a little unit.

But what was it like for the actress to return to where she made her household name after all these years? With a grin, Danielle wasnt coy about sharing her joy at being able to revisit a character she clearly loves.
She enthused: I did five years when I was here before, it went so quick and I was out for four and now Im back. Its really lovely coming back and I was a little bit nervous about what people were going to say, because its been so long and you wonder if people remember the character, it was so overwhelming when they released she was coming back and all the fans, it was really lovely and supportive, I was really excited.
This is home. I think when you work here it becomes your home. It was my first acting job as well so to leave and do other bits was amazing but to get the call to come back was brilliant. Especially from Kate as well, I think shes amazing so its been wicked.

On what she has missed most, she added: I think it is that family dynamic – obviously people become like your family in real life which is really nice, and being back in the mix of that has been great. I was a bit nervous to start but you kind of Read More – Source
