Cape Town – Wits coach Gavin Hunt admitted he didn't want to "say too much" about the match officials following a number of questionable decisions in the 2-0 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs.
The league leaders held their own in the first half, doing well to frustrate the visiting Amakhosi as the two teams went into the interval with the scores locked at 0-0.
However, Chiefs went on to score two goals in the second stanza before Robyn Johannes received his marching orders after picking up a second yellow card for dissent.
Wits' players were incensed by referee Victor Gomes' decision, aggressively surrounding him at the final whistle.
All of this prompted Hunt to intervene at the final whistle as the situation threatened to deteriorate further.
Hunt was clearly unhappy with the manner in which the match ended and, of course, the referees performance, but he refused to directly criticise the match officiating.
"There's not really much to say. I don't want to say too much. It's very disappointing the way the situation was handled," Hunt told Supersport TV after the match.
"It is what it is. We knew when we came to the game what it was going to be like, what it was going to entail.
"So, there's not really much to say. I don't really want to say too much. I don't want to talk about anything because I might just say something I shouldn't say."
The result sees Wits remain at the top of the pile, although they now hold just a two-point lead over second-placed Orlando Pirates, who defeated Chippa United 4-2 on Tuesday evening.
