Audrey Roberts is convinced that Lewis Archer and Claudia Colby were in cahoots to steal her money but she should be looking closer to home as Coronation Street has confirmed that her own grandson Nick Tilsley has pilfered the cash (circa £80k!). The swine!
Nick has had some financial issues, mostly caused by his divorce from Elsa and so when Audrey received her inheritance from Archie Shuttleworth, the pound signs in his eyes lit up and all notion of family loyalty was gone.
He is happy to let Lewis take the blame – especially now he is dead – but it turns out that the reformed con man was totally innocent and was planning to propose to the woman he loved before he dropped dead.

However, things have become more complicated now that Claudia has invested a lump of cash in her salon and Audrey has reached the conclusion that she was involved, even calling the police on her to make the allegation.

Claudia was incredulous and denied any involvement when questioned and Nick has tried to put his gran off the thought that Claudia might be the thief as he is less keen on a living person taking the fall than a dead one.
At the end of the episode, he casually relayed his day to Leanne, who questioned what £80k in cash even looks like. Nick neednt ponder, as he was looking at that very thing stashed in his gym bag.
But how will Audrey feel when she learns the truth about what he has done? And will it destroy the family forever?
