Currently in pre-production, filming is set for later this year from director Martin Wilson, whose 2004 TV movie Roll was distributed by ShowTime and SBS Independent in Australia. Michael Boughens (Killer Elite) screenplay charts how a blissful tourist trip quickly turns into a nightmare when five passengers on a seaplane become stranded miles from shore. In a desperate bid for survival the group try to make it to land before they either run out of supplies or are taken by the man-eating sharks lurking just beneath the surface.

The movie is produced by Reef and The Pack producer Michael Robertson and Neal Kingston (Nerve). The same producing duo are behind crocodile thriller Black Water: The Abyss, which Altitude also reps for international. Chris Veerhuis (Breath) is also producing while Robert Slaviero will serve as an executive producer.

Altitude sales chief Mike Runagall told us, “Great White is a gripping concept-driven survival thriller from a team with proven track record in high-end suspense filmmaking that pitches a full-on battle with nature and the most terrifying predator known to man.”

“Were excited to be able to bring this suspenseful survival tale to life and work with the brilliant team at Altitude to add Great White to our growing slate of Aussie genre films,” added Robertson and Kingston.
