Pitso wary of Middendorp’s Chiefs

Cape Town – Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane admits "it's not easy to go to FNB with a new coach" as his side prepares to face Ernst Middendorp's Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday afternoon.

Sundowns occupy fifth place in the Absa Premiership standings, just one point ahead of Amakhosi but with three games in hand due to their exploits in the CAF Champions League.

While Sundowns have grown accustomed to picking up a result against Chiefs at FNB Stadium, Mosimane feels the upcoming clash will be prove to be a different challenge with Middendorp in the opponents' dugout.

"We need to catch up. We need to try and win," Mosimane is quoted as saying by KickOff website.

"It's not easy to go to FNB with a new coach. Okay, we don't lose to be honest at FNB, but also, we don't win easily.

"Coach Middendorp is a tough, top disciplinarian. I could read one or two comments. I am following a bit. The players are having it different."

Chiefs have been inconsistent in their last five Premiership fixtures, recording two wins, two defeats and one draw.

Masandawana, meanwhile, are the only side in South Africa's top flight to remain unbeaten, and a win over Chiefs on Saturday could see them rise as high as third place, depending on results elsewhere.
