Emmerdale star Fiona Wade has announced her engagement to former co-star Simon Cotton, after he proposed over the new year period. The actress, who plays Priya Sharma in the soap, shared the post on Instagram and has been met with well wishers from friends and fans.
Simon briefly played an estate agent in the show who was interested in working with Home Farm. The couple confirmed their romance in the summer of last year and now they are set to get married, with Fiona sharing her joy.
She wrote: Two days ago this beautiful man asked me to be his wife. There has never been an easier answer to a question…. Yes!

On screen she is less lucky in love as Priya, who split from her shady husband Rakesh. She is currently working with Graham Foster in Home Farm and is expected to be caught up in major scenes when Kim Tate returns later this year.
In other recent Priya shenanigans, she was involved in a lustful affair with Pete Barton behind the back of her friend Leyla Harding but this ended in disaster.
