Volunteers acknowledged for service to the community | photos

Spirited community members were acknowledged at the Volunteer Christmas Luncheon last Wednesday. The Volunteer Luncheon at the Nyngan RSL saw people come together as a thank you for their generous community spirit as a volunteer for Australian Unity Home Care Meals on Wheels, Social Support and Community Transport Projects. These services allow people to live independently in their homes. At the luncheon new volunteers Sue Bourke, Victoria Boag and James Boag were welcomed and introduced. Acknowledgements went to: Dawn Elder for 20 years of volunteer service and Anne Spicer for 10 years of volunteer service. Joanne Miller, Anne Morrison, Dennis Callaghan, Norma Jeffery, Lynn Hodge, Col Cluderay, Gai Lister, Margaret McGlynn and Michael McGlynn for 10 years of service to Meals on Wheels. Doreen Read, Janene Dutschke and Lynda Young for 5 years of service to Meals on Wheels. Brian Quinton was also recognised for 10 years of service to Community Transport. ​ Colleen Anderson also took out the prize for the best dressed Christmas bling at the luncheon.
