Victoria Boag back in the Rural Financial Counselling seat

Nyngans Victoria Boag has stepped back into the role at the Rural Financial Counsellor Service for Nyngan and the surrounding region. The Rural Financial Counselling Service (RFCS) is available to provide assistance to a range of clients who are suffering, or at imminent risk of suffering financial hardship. This is a familiar role for Mrs Boag having previously been with the organisation for 10 years. Mrs Boag initially joined the Rural Financial Counselling team in April 2007 as a part time administration support officer and from September 2007 she commenced as the counsellor in the Nyngan office. Prior to joining the RFCS she had approximately 17 years experience in Local Government. Mrs Boag has qualifications in Rural Business Administration from UNE-OAC, and has successfully completed the Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling) in April 2009. Victorias region includes not only the Bogan Shire, but also parts of the Cobar and Warren Shires. Mrs Boag has hit the ground running in the role and continues to assist eligible clients to better understand their financial position by providing a range of services. These include access to financial information and options, empowering clients to make their own decisions on how to effectively manage change and adjustment along with providing referrals to other service providers. As a RFC, Mrs Boag will also provide links to various levels of government assistance and offer support in the application process.
