Rapper T-Pain has been accused of ripping off the title track from Bollywood film Aashiqui 2, Tum Hi Ho, in his new song Thats Yo Money.

Many fans took to social media on Wednesday to point out the perceived similarities between the song and Ts tune, with many commenting on the video on YouTube claiming the US artist turned the most romantic tune into a stripper song.

Earlier this week claims were made by the films director Mohit Suri and music composer Mithoon who put together the tune, to which T-Pain responded.

They took to social media last week to call into account the rapper as Mohit said: Dunno why but this seems familiar #aashiqui2 #tumhiho @TPAIN.

He tagged the video before adding: Its a melody from Mithuns song buddy @Mithoon11 @raiisonai @itsBhushanKumar.

Mithoon was quick to respond, as he tweeted T and wrote: Sir, the melody that you have used in your new song is my original work for a previously released Hindi film..The Label is looking into this.#tumhiho #Aashiqui2.

T-Pain tweeted in response to the backlash he woke to: Woke up to getting dragged by brown twitter. Sooooo yea. I definitely didnt produce this song.

Had no idea that was a sample and have never heard the music before I got the beat from the producer. Easy thing to work out. The labels will be in contact. Thanx.

Mohit was definitely not picking up what T-Pain – real name Raheem Najm – was putting down, as he replied: Brown Twitter !! Sir is that what your response is .?? is this a apology or foolish ignorance .if you hadnt been so stuck up in your world and realised that this song has crossed over a billion streamings .maybe you would understand.

In true social media fashion, though, T-Pain also wasnt going to take the heat lying down and hit back at the claims.

Just now decided….. I dont give a shit anymore, he tweeted on Tuesday. Figure it out. Moving on. Ive had too much success over the last 13 years. Im good.

However, social media wasnt done with him, as they continued to drag the artist days later, as punters listened to both tracks and cast their opinion, as the public is wont to do.

While its been claimed T-Pains song has been taken off YouTube, as of time of writing it was still available to listen.

One was a fan of the star and is feeling a little let down: With extra bass into @mohit11481 tum hi ho song from Bollywood its not appreciated bruv! I am a fan but doing these kinda stunts will make u fall of the ladder. [sic]

One recalled a message from the rapper in which he tweeted about the bodies of Bollywood actors.

T-Pain sampling Tum Hi Ho without credit is just the latest entry in his weird obsession with Indian movies, the punter wrote. Remember when he dissed every Bollywood actor by calling out their dadbods?

Another was on Ts side, as they in turn accused Bollywood of ripping off Western tunes – in a sign things were about to get messy.

They wrote: Some Indians apparently mad at T-Pain because his producer used a Bollywood sample. As if Bollywood hasnt regularly been sampling, borrowing from and straight-up copying Western pop and folk tunes since the 50s.

Its not a good week for the performer, after his former management company allegedly countersued him.

In reports obtained by The Blast on Tuesday, it was claimed Chase Entertainment filed a $1 million (£790k) countersuit over unpaid commissions. That was after T-Pain himself sued after alleging the company took illegal commissions without obtaining a talent license.
