Once Upon a Deadpool is Marvels PG-13, children-friendly version of their foulmouthed superhero, and a post-credit scene in the movie gave a nod to the late and great Stan Lee.

The comic creator, who died in November at the age of 95, cameo-ed in many of his Marvel movies including Deadpool 2 released in May.

The PG-13 version of the film, out just in time of Christmas, is edited to remove all the swearing and features the additional hat tip to the legend.

Footage shows Lee reacting to Deadpools costume, before he asked him why the superheros suit isnt green, Complex reports.

Marvel fans will recognise the question, which seems to be a reference to Ryan Reynolds previous superhero iteration as Green Lantern in the critically panned 2011 movie.

Another scene is pulled from an interview Stan Lee conducted, when he talked about his legacy.

I dont think about that much, you know?” he says. “When Im gone, I really dont care.

It doesnt do you any good, he laughs, When youre gone.

Then, photos of Lee flash across the screen, depicting him at different points in his life, before zeroing in on an image of Lees signature, above the dates 1913-2018.

Marvels Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse also paid tribute to Stan Lee after being the creators first comic book character.
