George Ezra thinks Shotgun was a success because he burped on it
George Ezra has spoken out about his single Shotgun and why he thinks it has been so successful.
Youd thing a singer would big up their lyrics, or voice or even concept of a tune, but not George.
The 25-year-old thinks the track did so well because he burped on it – we beg to differ, but if you say so George.
When the tune shot to the top of the charts, eagle-eyed (well, eared) fans noticed that the track featured a noise which sounded like a burp.
As word spread like wildfire, people from all over streamed the song, and streamed it again, to try and work out what the noise was.
Chatting about the strange sound, George told the Daily Star: I got this email saying: “Look theres this meme going around saying that you burped.”

But its just me saying the word “well,” we are slightly disappointed at this.
He continued: Within about a week it got back to number one as everyone was checking out to see if I burp.
Over the summer, fans were quick to take to Twitter to comment on the peculiar sound, that happens around 59 seconds into the track.
One wrote: Is it just me or does @george_ezra burp in the 59th second of shotgun?
Another added: My favourite part in the #GeorgeEzra song #Shotgun is the burp at 0:59 seconds into the song! #LOL.
Someone else commented: George Ezra burps 59 seconds into shotgun and Im sorry Ive just ruined it for everyone.
But the star has denied the claims he burped on the track, and were grateful for him clearing it up.
Before releasing the track, George had doubts that the tune was 100 per cent original.
Chatting to news.com.au, the star said: On the day we first wrote Shotgun, and for days afterwards, I kept asking ”Are we sure this hasnt been done already?”

He went on to confess that he had hired a musicologist to make sure there was no copyright problems with his track.
But it turns out there wasnt as he released the tune earlier this year.
And anyway – who would copy a burp?
