EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt reveals why getting an end of episode cliffhanger is so awkward
Ian Beale is Eastenders longest-lasting resident having been there for 33 years (which is pretty impressive, considering your chance of getting killed in Walford!)
However, actor Adam Woodyatt has revealed that theres a downside to the excitement of living on the BBC soap – he actually hates the iconic doof doof moments that end each episode.
Speaking on This Morning, Adam explained that they can actually be pretty awkward when Rochelle quizzed: Youve been there obviously such a long time, is it still just as exciting to get a good doof doof moment?
Oh no I hate them bits, he replied.
Youve got to stand there for like four seconds like a lemon. Youd respond normally in the real world.

Somebodys just given you some vital information like “Cindys dead”…youd say something. Actually trying to stay there for four seconds and not do anything.
Phillip Schofield then gave it a go himself to see how difficult it was.

Over the years, poor Ian Beale has had his fair share of storylines that have ended in a dramatic doof-doof moment.
Christmas, is in particular known for its moments of drama, and this year looks no different.
And it appears that Ian never learns, as he tries to get closer once again to ex-wife, Mel Owen.
