Tekashi 6ix9ine has decided that fans will get to enjoy his new music after all.
The Gummo rapper will reportedly release his debut album, Dummy Boy, today despite remaining in jail after pleading not guilty in court this week.
6ix9ine, real name Daniel Hernandez, is being held in police custody after an arrest earlier this month for racketeering and weapon charges.
With his legal situation lingering on, Tekashis team announced they had postponed the release of Dummy Boy but that didnt stop the record from getting leaked online over the weekend.
Now as a treat for his loyal fans, Tekashi, 22, will finally unveil the anticipated record officially.
Everyday Struggle host Akademiks, who is also a good friend of the rappers, said in an Instagram post on Tuesday: In a few hours #tekashi69 “DUMMY BOY” album will be released.
He has instructed his label to release it on his behalf and tho he is disappointed about his current situation and the leak of the project he wants his fans to enjoy his album that he worked hard on. He also loves and misses his fans.
In the caption, Akademiks claimed that Tekashi had personally instructed his label to release the album.
Dummy Boy boasts a star-studded tracklist with Kanye West and Nicki Minaj among the guest performers.
According to TMZ, Tekashi appeared in a New York City court on Monday where he pleaded not guilty in the racketeering case. A judge set the rappers trial date for 4 September meaning he will have to spend close to another year behind bars to find out whether he will receive the life imprisonment sentence he reportedly faces.
Tekashi was arrested alongside his manager and two former associates just days after revealing in a Power 105.1 Breakfast Club interview that he had fired his entire team.
Its said that Tekashi faces a minimum of 32 years imprisonment.
