Scarlett Lee has found a role model and very good friend in former X Factor contestant Jesy Nelson.

The Little Mix singer has been holding Scarlett together three weeks after a devastating fire struck her family caravan in Epsom.

Scarlett, who recently thanked the popstar for her always being there, now explains how their friendship flourished over the phone, thanks to a mutual understanding of the audition process.

Jesy has become a very good friend, Scarlett told OK! magazine this week. After my audition she contacted me and I love her, because shes real.

Honestly, these last few weeks, she has been the foundation that has held me together. She is what I call a role model. I want to be like her. I can talk to her about anything.

Scarlett wrote a message on Twitter to say thanks straight after a blaze broke out nextdoor to her home in early November.

The X Factor hopeful was in the neighbouring caravan when the blaze emerged, even sustaining an injury from the embers when she helped her brothers family to escape.

She wrote: Thank you to Jesy Nelson for always being there for me when Im down. Only ever a phone call away. Im more than grateful to her.

But Jesy appears to have been consistently on hand for support for some time now, even messaging Scarlett when she moved into the contestants house.

Scarlett continued: She texted me before I was going into the house and said: “I know the house gets a bit manic but you need to enjoy it and Im here if you need someone to talk to.

And there are many times Ive just called her up.

Jesy appeared on X Factor in 2011 and went on to win the eighth series after forming a girlband with global success story, Little Mix.

Budding popstar Scarlett has meanwhile continued as a solo act, first auditioning in 2017.

She admits she has struggled to sleep with paranoia about another blaze in the contestants mansion but has gone from strength to strength in the competition process, nonetheless.
