Ewan McGregor in talks to play Batman villain Black Mask
Ewan McGregor is set to star as villain Black Mask in the upcoming Warner Bros movie Birds of Prey, directed by Cathy Yan.
The film is currently scheduled to be released in 2020 and will see Ewan starring alongside his new flame Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who will play Huntress.
Centred around a group of female superheroes, its set to be spin-off from David Ayers 2016 film Suicide Squad.
We are SO ready for some more girl power in the DC Universe.
The movie will also feature Margot Robbie, reprising her role as Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, with Rosie Perez playing Renee Montoya.
The character of Black Mask was created by Doug Moench and Tom Mandrake, and first appears in 1985s Batman No. 386. Fans are pretty hyped to see one of their favourite villains on the big screen.

Its a bit of a change from his role as Winnie the Pooh character Christopher Robin, but fans are more than a little excited to see the actor take on the role.
In response to the news, one fan tweeted: Im down to see Ewan McGregor as Black Mask. Hes always been very good in his roles and itll be cool to see him in a rare villain role. Birds of Prey is shaping up nicely!

The news comes just weeks after Ben Affleck was rumoured to be dropped as Batman from DC Studios.
It was reported by Variety that DC Studios are expected to recast the Dark Knight with a different actor for director Matt Reeves.
