Will Thanos be arrested by the NYPD in Avengers 4? Theories emerge about Russo Brothers spoiler

It doesnt take much for an Avengers fan to form a well-argued theory behind basically anything to do with the franchise.

And thats pretty much what is continuing to happen each and every day and were here for it.

So, when the Russo Brothers, Anthony and Joe, announced Avengers 4 reshoots had wrapped and we were well on our way to witnessing the next instalment, fans picked apart the image they used to mark the momentous occasion.

On their joint Twitter account, the directors posted an image of what appeared to be a bright blue light.

First glimpse might suggest it is merely a blue gel over a set light – and those things are bright – but it wouldnt be part of the MCU fandom if punters didnt draw some pretty long-winded conclusions that just might work.

Two in particular are doing the rounds online, as others jump on board with their support and/or critical thinking and rebuttal.

One such suggested that perhaps Thanos is going to be caught by the NYPD – which seems pretty real world and if weve learnt anything from Avengers and MCU, this is not real world.

But lets hear them out – as it does link to the OG comics.

One Redditor by the name of ikaxhif pointed out the light in the Twitter post looks an awful lot like the edge of a police sirens light that sits atop a patrol car.

They then compared it to a scene from the Marvel comic, which saw Thanos being arrested by cops. Its all very coincidental, isnt it?

(Note: the other image is of someone dressed as Thanos being arrested in Toronto earlier this year and not linked to the film…we dont think…)

One user appeared to support the theory as they wrote: The leaked trailer description says there is a scene of thanos in the streets of NY…. so you never know.

Another, perhaps a little more cynical, replied: Avenger 4 ends like the holy grail, confirmed.

However, thats not where the theories about the Russos post ended, as another idea linked to Iron Man has made an appearance recently.

One Twitter user posted a picture from the comics of Tony Stark AKA Iron Mans proton cannon, as in, a big mama of a gun he created. Which looks an awful lot like the blue light from the social media post.

There really is a lot to unpack here.

One fan artist by the name of Bass Logic posted the side-by-side comparison, with the caption: SOLVED!

Fans werent all that dismissive of it, either, as one linked back to Infinity War.

It has actually been shown in the last movie. Rhodes was working on it when Cap meets him at facility, one wrote. You can see the cannon in the background.

Another added: That makes two possible proton cannon hints. I really think this is it.

It would make sense for Tony to be creating a massive weapon after Thanos Snap obliterated half the population.

However, we hazard a guess were extremely unlikely to find out the real object in the fiendish directors image at least until the trailer is released. The real trailer, we mean.
