Paul McCartney has put out some of the most iconic and recognisable tunes in history with his band The Beatles.

However, it seems as though hes released so many hits that hes struggling to remember all of the lyrics.

Take the bands track Yellow Submarine for instance: We all live in a yellow submarine / Yellow submarine / Yellow submarine…

We all live in a yellow submarine / Yellow submarine / Yellow submarine.

Or even I Want To Hold Your Hand: Yeah, you got that somethin / I think youll understand / When I say that somethin / I want to hold your hand.

They go on: I want to hold your hand / I want to hold your hand.

Yes, we see how Paul can forget those lyrics.

In an interview with 60 Minutes, the 76-year-old spoke about the amount of songs he has to remember, and insisted that there are just too many.

He said: When Im doing shows I listen to a lotta music, Beatles music, Wings music, to see what ones were gonna do. And to learn them.

The interviewer then proceeded to ask whether or not forgetting his tracks was a regular occurrence.

To which Paul replied: Theres too many. Too many words. Too many notes. Theyre very hard. I mean, you know, its not like theyre all three chords.

The star went on to chat about his late bandmate John Lennon and revealed that the singer only complimented Pauls work once.

He remembers that, eh?

Paul said: It was Here, There and Everywhere. John says just as it finishes, “Thats a really good song, lad. I love that song” and Im like, “Yes! He likes it!”

It seems the pair had a particularly close relationship, as Paul has previously looked back on some of his fondest memories with John.

Chatting to GQ magazine earlier this year, he claimed that the duo were so close they even used to masturbate together.

He said: What it was… was over at Johns house, and it was just a group of us.

And instead of just getting roaring drunk and partying—I dont even know if we were staying over or anything—we were all just in these chairs, and the lights were out, and somebody started masturbating, so we all did.

You do you, Paul!
