It seems like Warner Bros.s comedy Crazy Rich Asians has well and truly hit the mark.
In its first five days, the movie proved its popularity by pulling in $34 million (£26.65million), taking £25.3million (£19.8million) over just the weekend as cinema goers raced to see the new romantic comedy from the movie giant.
It beat Warner Bros. other release The Meg, which earned $21.5million (£16.85million).
Turns out celebs are loving it too, with Chris Pratt saying it blew my socks off.

The movie has earned praise for being the first global release to have an all-Asian cast since 1993s The Joy Luck Club.

The movie follows Rachel Chu as her boyfriends date to his best friends wedding in Singapore. Once there she meets his family, and learns theyre one of the richest in Singapore.
Suddenly Rachel finds herself the centre of jealousy from women wanting their piece of Nick Young, and they are hell-bent on bringing her down to get him. As is his mother, who doesnt think Rachel is good enough.
Word of mouth is everything, Jeff Goldstein, Warner Bros. head of domestic distribution told Variety. This movie is so culturally significant and so unique in that there hasnt been a cast thats predominately Asian [in years]. This is one of those few projects that a whole studio comes together with lots of passion.
K-pop star Eric Nam was so taken with the movie, be bought out an entire Atlanta screening.
To all my fans, friends and family in ATLANTA. My brothers and I have decided to buy out a showing of the new movie CRAZY RICH ASIANS, he posted on Instagram. Eric and his brothers Eddie and Brian bought the 16 August, 6pm showing of the movie at AMC Parkway Pointe 15 theater where we used to watch movies on the weekends.
He explained it was because were tired of being under and misrepresented in mainstream media and we want decision makers to understand that WE ARE HERE, WE ARE ABLE, WE ARE INFLUENTIAL AND WE ARE IMPORTANT.
