Jim Carrey has revealed that he no longer wants to be in the Hollywood business.

The actor took a step back from acting several years ago and has been focusing on his art although he is back on the small screen in 2018 with a TV show called Kidding.

I didnt like what was happening, the corporations taking over and all that, said the 56-year-old star of comedies including Dumb And Dumber and The Mask.

And maybe its because I felt pulled toward a different type of creative outlet and I really liked the control of painting – of not having a committee in the way telling me what the idea must be to appeal to a four-quadrant whatever.

But despite his return to acting, he has insisted that it is not in the same way and that he no longer feels like little Jim trying to hang on to a place in the stratosphere any more – I dont feel like Im trying to hold on to anything.

Kidding sees Carrey take centre stage as Jeff, an iconic childrens entertainer whose personal life implodes when, after years of starring as all-dancing and all-singing alter ego Mr. Pickles, his identity becomes a forgotten memory; one that he cant seem to get back.

The trailer suggests some serious twisted stuff coming our way as, in the strangest of particularly dark mental break downs, he shaves a strip down his head, peers on his neighbours and is masturbated by a puppet.

Carrey has had a tough few years after his ex-girlfriend Cathriona White died by suicide and the actor looked set to face trial after her family accused Carrey of giving White the drugs she used.

Carrey and White, a 30-year-old Irish make up artist, had separated in the days before her death and he had text her the night before asking about a bottle of painkillers that had gone missing.

Bottles next to her bed were later revealed to be under the pseudonym Arthur King, and intended for Carrey.

The case involved the Drug Dealer Liability Act.

We are clearly not alleging that Jim Carrey was selling drugs out of the back of his pickup truck and was therefore not marketing or selling in the traditional sense of what that word would bring to mind, said Sweetman and Burtons lawyer in May 2017.

In February, a court determined that Carrey would not face trial over Whites suicide; reps for Carrey confirmed there would be no further comment but that the Carrey was looking forward to moving on with his life.
