Katy Perry has finally dispelled the myth that backstage is for chilling out.

Journalist Derek Blasberg posted a video of the singer in the midst of an insane 30-second wardrobe change.

Perry can be seen grasping a bar over her head as three people attempt to zip her into a skin tight black dress.

Blasberg captioned the video: Costume change in 30 seconds or less or your pizza is free.

The singer was performing in Paris, France and fans got a sneak peek into exactly how the pros do it.

The 33-year-old gave an Attenborough-esque narration of her frantic wardrobe change: This is the Nascar pit-stop for changing costumes. This is what pop stars do when you think theyre just smoking dope, hanging out backstage, waiting to come on.

She works really hard for her money, she added.

In the video shes got short lilac locks and wears a black leather leotard and dotted tulle on her shoulders and hips. She slides a fascinator on her head before making her way back on stage.

It wasnt too long ago that the American Idol judge suffered a wardrobe malfunction that left her particularly red-faced. In April while on set, she split her silver jumpsuit – right on her backside. Perry had demanded a crew member DIY tape her dress shut.

She had pleaded: Tape it! Tape my butt!
