Pitso: Let’s see Percy in the EPL

Cape Town – Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has revealed that there has been interest from England's Premier League in Percy Tau.

Tau capped a sensational season when he was awarded the Footballer of the Season and Player's Player of the Season awards at the Absa PSL end-of-season gala on Tuesday night. He also shared the Golden Boot award with Rodney Ramagalela.

Mosimane had previously been hoping that Tau would spend another season in the PSL, but over the last few days has spoken of bis acceptance that the player will move overseas.

Now, speaking after the awards evening on Tuesday in which he received the Coach of the Season accolade, Mosimane says the 24-year-old Bafana Bafana star could be headed for England's top division, the richest league in the world.

"Percy is going to be difficult for us (to retain)," he was quoted saying by the Sowetan.

"Premier League teams (want him) now," he continued.

"We've been talking about top five leagues for him‚ not to go to Denmark‚ Sweden what is he going to do there?

"I think he must go (overseas) guys. Let's have a player in the EPL we've got nobody now.

"He has done well for us what else can he do for us? You know let's see him abroad week in and week out and let's judge him there is he is the real deal or not. So let him go."
