The Margaret River Gropers travelled to Dunsborough's new ground in Busselton to take on the Collie Mongrels on Saturday. They played against the stunning backdrop of Geographe Bay at the multi-million dollar revamped ground.
As the sun set on the foreshore the sun was rising for the Gropers. There is quite literally a hemisphere between them and their nearest rivals at the moment.
The Gropers were once again scraping a team together, having many late exclusions due to injury.
They managed to create a strong side nonetheless with their squads depth proving vital. Dos had an unfortunate date with a large piece of metal at work the evening before with a wound requiring many stitches.
He asked for advice from one of the teams veterans, and took it, deciding to play despite the advice of medical experts. He had a blinder of a game and remained unaffected.
Despite the royal wedding being aired at the same time, quite a crowd gathered to once again see the Gropers in action.

Mark Sheath had an unfortunate encounter with a Stanley knife the morning of the game and was ruled out also.
Cory Bridge was on an official invitation from Prince Harry and was obviously excused. Fellow Englishman Olly Chanin was miffed by this and had an unbelievable game .
Despite the royal wedding being aired at the same time, quite a crowd gathered to once again see the Gropers in action.
As Meghan Markle was lacking bridesmaids, the Mongrels stepped in and answered the call. They were completely obliterated off the park from the outset and were left trying to catch a bouquet amongst the other teams .
Normally known for their pace and skill, the Gropers physically dominated their opposition with the the ref stopping play no fewer than 7 times to ensure the safety of the Collie side.
The Gropers were relentless, and play was shortened to some 60 mins. In the meantime they racked up 64 points to nil. Brior Boosemaart was a huge presence around the field.
Despite the Mongrels trying to get under his skin, he, like many of his teammates, humiliated the opposition legally with hard fair play. The Gropers are sitting well and truly clear on top of the table after 4 games.
