I thought no one would be here: Ed Sheeran jokes about being Biggest Weekends warm up act
Ed Sheeran has kicked off the Biggest Weekend festival in Swansea.
Ed got the crowd going for the big music event, taking to the stage just after 12pm and playing Castle On The Hill.
He joked to the 52,000-strong crowd: Thank you so much for turning up so early. A part of me thought no-one would be here.
Ed added that he was basically the warm-up act for the artists coming on after him, which include Sam Smith and Noel Gallagher.
He said: What my job is to basically warm you up a little bit.
Even if you dont know the words, make them up. You have to sing something.
Rattling through his set solo, the crowd were treated to performances of Bloodstream, Shape Of You and The A-Team before jetting off (literally) to get to Manchester in time for his show later tonight.
It poured down with rain just as his set finished – not that fans seemed to mind one bit.
