Anzac Races set for an exciting day
Racing in Nyngan kicks off with the Nyngan Anzac Day Races tomorrow Wednesay, April 25 at 1.30pm.
The day will begin with a free Khans IGA Luncheon for all from 12.30pm under the Toyota tent.
Racing will kick off about 1.30pm however it is a fun friendly day with free childrens activities including a jumping castle, clowns, face painting and more.
There will be a barbecue and afternoon tea facilities available all afternoon with a variety of cold refreshments.
A courtesy bus will be available from the Nyngan RSL to the races and will return after the last race.
A punters club will be operating for the local races with a well-known identity sought out to make the selections. This will sure be a crowd pleaser and very entertaining. $10 a share. The selected punter will be announced to the crowd and will begin punting on the first race.
Fashions of the field from Men and Ladies to teenagers and tots with extravagant prizes. All adult prizes are worth over $200 with a variety of sponsors. Please be mindful of the dress code for autumn racing.
The main feature of the day is the Nyngan RSL Nyngan Cup- Benchmark 65 HCP 1400m with prize money of $10,000.
Crowd favourite Rusty Motorbike with be taking on local horse Lucienne which is owned by Greg Deacon, Chris Elder & President Dennis Thorpe.
There is also the Aqua West Benchmark 55 900m, Inland Petroleum Benchmark 45 1200m, Nyngan Bowling Club Class 1 1100m, Nyngan Pharmacy & Carter Lindsay & Webber Max Smith Memorial Maiden Plate 900m & Nyngan Post Office & Kevin Miller Whitty Lennon & Co Ray Barrow Memorial Maiden 1200m.
Winning horses will be given a DVD of the race courtesy of Nyngan Newsagency.
