When Gaga rates you, you know youve hit the big time.

Things are going pretty well for Cardi B at the moment, with the Bronx rapper still reaping the acclaim and attention from the release of her well-received debut album Invasion of Privacy last week.

But its fair to say that a seal of approval from Lady Gaga might just be the icing on the cake for Cardi.

After a grainy archive clip of the rapper performing Gagas 2009 hit Bad Romance went viral this week, Gaga took to Twitter to register her delight at the resurfacing of the high school performance video.

Yes, that is Cardi there, taking centre stage, surrounded by backing dancers and with the audience in the palm of the hand – not much has changed between then and now, has it?

After the clip took off online, Gaga then pledged her allegiance to Cardi with just two words and three emojis.

Having collaborated with a genuine superstar in the past – we all remember Gaga and Beyonces Telephone, right? – could this short-but-sweet declaration of respect pave the way for Gagas next big duet?

Cardis certainly up for it, anyway – at last years VMAs, the rapper revealed that Gaga is still someone who she very much looks up to.

If I could collaborate with anyone, itd definitely be with one of my idols: Lady Gaga, she said on the red carpet.

If [Gagas] here tonight, I wanna let you know that I love you, bitch.

And now that Gaga has returned the love, who knows what might happen next?
