North Korea is set to host it’s first K-Pop concert in over a decade.
South Korea played host to a number of North Korean acts during the 2018 Winter Olympics, and it looks as though the North is willing to return the favour by inviting not one, not two but 160 South Korean artists across the border.
According to Reuters the group of singers will visit Pyongyang from 31 March to 3 April and will hold two shows, one at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre and the other at the Ryukyung Chung Ju Yung Gymnasium.
K-pop girl group Red Velvet and music industry veterans Cho Yong-pil and Lee Sun-hee will be just some of the names to appear on stage.
Cho was the last South Korean artist to perform in North Korea at a concert back in 2005.
Along with his record producer Yoon Sang, the 67-year-old led South Korea’s delegation during talks today.
They said: ‘While we’re on the stage, I believe it will be difficult to portray personal feelings towards denuclearisation.

‘Our first task will be to instill the same awe in North Korean audiences as we do our South Korean ones and make sure nothing is awkward.’
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un revealed earlier this year that he wishes to improve ties between the two countries and it looked as though this might be the start of just that.
