Emmerdale fans have been left wondering how far Cain Dingle has gone in his attempt to deal with unrepentant acid attacker Simon tonight. Cain took Simon hostage to gauge whether there was any risk that he was going to drop Debbie in it but it quickly became obvious that Simon had no remorse over what he has done to Ross Barton.
As Cain was at a loss, he determined to get the message across that he needed to take this seriously and made Simon believe that he was about to splash him with acid. But as Cain doused his face, it turned out to be water – and Cain made it clear that he was nothing like him.
Simon assured Cain that he wouldn’t hear from him again but after Cain released him, Simon was back to making light of the matter – telling Cain that his threat of committing an acid attack had been a ‘good one’.
As he swaggered off, telling Cain that he would see him around, Cain was not satisfied that he had learned anything and punched him to the ground before launching into an attack.
Later, Debbie found Cain washing his hands and Cain revealed that Simon was gone and no-one would ever find him. Simon’s fate remains unconfirmed and although Cain said that he ‘did enough’ to stop Simon coming back, is he hiding the fact that he resorted to murder?
And if he did indeed kill Simon, will his actions come back to haunt him?
