Hawks turn back time as dust settles on Country Week

The Margaret River Hawks Cricket Club is gearing up for a finals assault in the second half of the season. Without playing for another week, the Hawks are getting antsy for a match. So the time is right to give our supporters the heads up of the happenings at the Nest.

The BMRCA recently attended Country Week in Perth and there were some brilliant individual performances by Hawks players and members.

Neil; Hawks curating master, managed the B section team and the team was the envy of the competition. With lollies, food, drinks and medical issues sorted immediately, Neil took management of a team to an entirely new level.

Kade Dittmar, after just turning 15 years old, was selected in the A section team and took a wicket with his third delivery of the week. He finished in the B side and took 6 wickets to be the fifth highest wicket taker for the association.

Rumesh Silva, the Hawks smiling assassin ended up with eight wickets including a five wicket haul on the final day. With a game high 87 on day 5, Michael Earl scored 106 runs for the week to be the BMRCA third highest run scorer. Congratulations to other Hawks Matty Kent, Dave Holmes and Paul Tognolini for the week.

The Hawks would also like to invite all past players and families and partners and families to the Past Players Pink Stumps Day on February 17.

To thank the past players and their families for everything they have done to start and grow the great club that is the Hawks, the club would love to see all past players in attendance.

We are also raising money for the McGrath Foundation. This foundation raises money for breast care nurses throughout the country. We would love to see as many of the community at the club.

If you are interested in becoming involved in the Hawks, please call president James Gannaway on 0408 899 994. All abilities are welcomed and all gear can be supplied. Training is on Thursday nights from 4.30pm.
